SGS Laboratory confirms food safety
The SGS Nairobi microbiology laboratory was started in May 2006. Since then, we have provided food, water and environmental testing services. This lab is accredited to ISO 17025 by SANAS.
The range of tests includes:
Water - Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, total plate count, Salmonella, total coliform count, Streptococcus faecalis.
Food - Total plate count, Escherichia coli, total viable count, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacteriacea, Listeria monocytogenes, total coliform count, Yeast and mould count. The lab testing services help to ensure that food and food products conform to public health and regulatory requirements. In addition, food manufacturers and food processors can ensure the cleanliness of the food processing environment.
The Nairobi laboratory exists, among other reasons, to partner with food processors to achieve this conformance.
